Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Journal «Bulletin of Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University. Series: Psychological Sciences» included in the list of professional publications that can publish the results of dissertation research in psychological sciences for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Science.

The journal is published twice a year.

The journal accepts articles, bibliographic and source reviews, reviews of new publications in Ukrainian and English that correspond to the profile of the journal and the current state of science and have not been published before. The authors of the articles can be: Doctors and Candidates of Sciences, young scientists (adjuncts, graduate students, applicants), as well as other persons with higher education and engaged in scientific activities.

The Editorial Board does not consider articles of an illustrative or review nature or articles that are not of general interest and do not contain important conclusions. Each article must be checked for plagiarism and reviewed by leading experts in the relevant scientific fields. Publication is based on the dates of submission and completion of the review. As a result, an article may be recommended for publication, returned for revision, or rejected. One issue may contain no more than one article by an author. The editors reserve the right to edit and shorten articles.

The presentation of the material should be concise, logical and consistent with the scientific style. The text should be checked for spelling, grammar and punctuation errors. The author of the article is responsible for the accuracy of the material presented, personal knowledge of it, and the accuracy of citing sources and references to them. Articles that do not meet these requirements will not be accepted for publication.

An important condition for acceptance of an article for publication is the availability of new original materials or a new scientific understanding of already known scientific material; absence of borrowings without appropriate reference or prior approval; availability of reliable facts, accurate description of the research results, sufficient details and bibliographic references for possible reproduction.

If the author wishes to publish a previously published article in a new version, he/she must submit to the editorial board a bibliographic reference to previous publications and justify the relevance of publishing a new version, explain the changes made to the latest version of the article.

It is unacceptable to present plagiarized work as original work and to submit a previously published article for publication. In cases of plagiarism, the authors of the submitted materials are responsible.

The journal allows authors to retain copyright without restriction.

Requirements for manuscripts
General requirements:
Only those scientific articles are accepted for publication that, according to the Resolution of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine №7-05/1 of 15.01.2003 "On increasing the requirements for professional publications included in the lists of the Higher Attestation Commission of Ukraine", contain the following elements:

  • statement of the problem in general and its connection with important scientific and practical tasks;
  • analysis of the latest research and publications that initiated the solution of this problem and on which the author relies;
  • identification of previously unsolved parts of the general problem to which the article is devoted;
  • formulation of the goals of the article (statement of the task);
  • presentation of the main research material with full justification of the scientific results obtained;
  • conclusions and prospects for further research in this area.
  • The structure of a scientific article must necessarily contain the following elements:
  • Statement of the problem in general and its connection with important scientific or practical tasks.
  • Analysis of the latest research and publications that address this problem and approaches to its solution.
  • Identification of previously unresolved parts of the general problem.
  • The purpose of the article (formulation of the article's objectives, statement of the task).
  • Presentation of the main research material with full justification of the scientific results obtained.
  • Conclusions and prospects for further research in this area.

Text formatting guidelines:

Page format: A4, book.
Borders: left - 3 cm, right - 1.5 cm, top and bottom - 2.5 cm.
Line spacing: 1,5.
Font: Times New Roman.
Pagination: 14.
Article size: from 6 to 12 pages.
Working languages: Ukrainian, Polish, English.

Use of signs and symbols: dash -, apostrophe ', quotation marks "...", for non-breaking spaces Ctrl +Shift + space, markers (-,-,▶,...), numbering 1.

Structural elements of the article:

on the left in the top line the UDC (14 pins) is placed;
in the middle of the line in capital letters in bold - the title of the article;
on the right, across the line, in lowercase letters in bold, the initials and surname of the author(s);
ORCID iD.
through the line from paragraph 12 in italics, the abstract (1800 characters) and keywords (in the language of the article) are given;
after one line from paragraph 14, the main text is printed in a font (indentation of the first line - 1.27 cm);
the list of references (= transliterated list of references) is printed in 12-point bold, centered and formatted in accordance with the standards of bibliographic description (see: DSTU 8302:2015 "Information and Documentation. Bibliographic reference. General provisions and rules of compilation"). References to sources should be made in the text in square brackets, indicating the page numbers of the relevant source, for example: [3, p. 234] or [2, p. 35; 8, p. 234]).
You can transliterate the names of sources using online services: for sources in Ukrainian, use Standard Ukrainian Transliteration in the Passport Standard mode (http://translit.kh.ua/?passport; for sources in Russian, use Translate.ss (http://translit.cc) or http://translit.net/en/bgn/; sources in foreign languages are not translated. After the transliterated title of a book, article, etc., the translation of the title should be placed in square brackets.
the title of the article (centered, bold), surname, name, patronymic (right, bold), abstract and keywords in the other two working languages of the collection (12-point, italicized, up to 1500 characters each) are given through a line from the paragraph;
information about the author (surname, name, patronymic, academic degree, academic title, position, place of work, new mail address, telephone, e-mail) should be given through the line in Ukrainian and English;
the text should be typed without hyphenation, the dash should be different from the hyphen, the quotation marks in the text should be the same, namely: "..."
Tables and other non-text objects should be numbered, placed in the middle of the text, in the center - under the figure (Fig. 1 ...), above the table (Table 1).

Languages of publications: Ukrainian, English, Polish.

PROCEDURE FOR SUBMITTING MATERIALS

To publish an article in the scientific journal "Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University Bulletin. Series: Psychological Sciences", it is necessary to fill in the author's certificate and send it together with the article, prepared in accordance with the specified requirements, by e-mail to v.vakar@donnu.edu.ua

A sample of the name of electronic files: Petrenko_article.

Data to be provided in the author's reference:

  • Surname, name, patronymic of the author(s);
  • Information about the supervisor is provided in the absence of a scientific degree;
  • Thematic area;
  • Place of work or study, academic degree, academic title, position;
  • Contact phone number;
  • E-mail;
  • Postal address.

    All articles recommended for publication by the Editorial Board are published in the order of their receipt and review.
