Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of psychological maturity of future police officers in the context of their professional training. It is determined that psychological maturity is an important factor in successful professional activity, since police officers often face challenges that require emotional stability, a high level of self-regulation and the ability to make informed decisions in difficult situations and conditions. The components of psychological maturity, such as self-awareness, autonomy, life philosophy, creativity, contact, synergy, and decentralization, are empirically studied.
Considerable attention is paid to how psychological support and training implemented during the study contribute to the increase of psychological maturity. In addition, the research examines the importance of developing communication skills, empathy and teamwork, which are an integral part of the successful professional activity of police officers in terms of effective investigation, service with firearms or the use of police measures.
The author emphasizes that the process of training future police officers should not only provide professional knowledge, but also form personal qualities that help to effectively perform their duties, taking into account the conditions of martial law or a state of emergency. As a result, recommendations are offered for the introduction of an interdisciplinary approach to training; stimulating self-development through independent study of psychological literature, attending online courses and webinars, trainings on stress management, development of emotional intelligence, time management and other useful skills; using interactive teaching methods; adjusting the content, forms and methods of lectures, practical and seminar classes in general and special disciplines; involvement in volunteer and scientific activities, etc. The results of the study demonstrate the importance of systematic psychological and pedagogical support for the successful formation of professional readiness and have practical implications for the development of effective training strategies for law enforcement agencies in Ukraine.
